Today, Rihanna (@badgalriri) received the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year award for her work supporting education and health care in Caribbean and developing countries. “Rihanna has charitably built a state-of- the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados,” said S. Allen Counter, the Harvard Foundation’s director.

Naz Smyth writes according to a recent article on Telegraph  Rihanna is the best ‘role model’ young women can have. When she addressed the Black Girls Rock awards show  Riri admitted to the young female audience: “Role model is not the title they like to give me.” She continued  “The thing that’s kept me successful is being myself. I only know how to do that. And the minute you learn to love yourself you would not want to be anybody else” Said Rihanna.
